The Forum and Exhibition Renewable and Alternative Energies in the Southern Cone – ERACS will be held at the Events Center of PUCRS (the Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul), in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, from the 11th to 13th of May, 2011. ERACS is organized by the Brazilian-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce/Rio Grande do Sul (CCBP/RS), co-organized by several Chambers of Commerce, such as the German, Spanish and the British, to name a few. The event is also supported by the Board of the Portuguese Commerce Chambers in Brazil.

Rio Grande do Sul is well recognized in the area of renewable and alternative energy, with the primary example being the wind farm in Osorio – one of the most important wind farms in Brazil and Latin America. In addition, universities, research centres and technology parks across the entire state provide human resources with strong scientific and technological capacity. These factors enable the state to attract both national and international investments, and to provide a favorable context for technological development and research focused on renewable energies.
